Two Many years of South Korean Nook Retailer Illustrations

Artist Me Kyeoung Lee has spent the ultimate 20 years documenting the tiny consolation outlets and nook retailers that dot the streets of South Korea. She illustrates the outlets, which in the mean time are quickly disappearing, with a dedication to the small particulars that make each distinctive. Mismatched chairs may be seen lined up out entrance, whereas tall cherry blossom or persimmon bushes shade the buildings’ entrances.

Me Kyeoung Lee attracts each of her illustrations with acrylic pens, and chooses to sketch each at noon to avoid the hazy shadows strong by early mornings or late afternoons.
