The Photo Gallery
In the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy, Annie Watson was not filled with despair, but inspired to create art. As a professional photographer, Watson’s house was severely flooded and her studio closed due to rebuilding of her home. Despite these obstacles, Watson was able to see beauty through the decay and destruction. And so, her shop, filthybeauty was born.
filthybeauty takes a deep look at urban decay, mostly dumpsters, to find the art that resides within. Wide shots became too disturbing, and so, Watson took a micro look to really find the beauty. “They say one man’s trash is another man’s treasure. I found my treasures on another man’s dumpster.” – Annie Watson
