This weekend, I used to be so excited to open an e-mail from the co-proprietor of Espai Cromàtic Gallery in Tarragona, Spain, showcasing a brand new (unbelievable!) collaboration they’re housing.
Famend poet Huang Xiang and artist William Rock have merged their artwork (poetry + portray) to create the Century Mountain Challenge:
A “visible dialogue throughout humanity,” which is an East / West collaboration of artwork between one of many biggest poets of twentieth century China, Huang Xiang, and American artist, William Rock. Their collaborative artwork honors the greatness in us as human beings that has made itself evident all through the centuries within the type of excellent creators, thinkers, discoverers, leaders — primarily individuals who stood out like mountains all through the centuries, reminiscent of Emily Dickinson, Edgar Allan Poe, Isadora Duncan, Gandhi, Pablo Neruda and Nietzsche.
p.s. In case you’re unfamiliar with poet Huang Xiang, he was imprisoned and tortured in China for over 12 years and placed on demise row twice for preventing for civil rights and freedom of speech by means of his poetry. He and his spouse now reside in New York Metropolis.
An interesting story, certainly, with a fantastic collaboration in consequence.
